EMDR is an evidenced-based form of psychotherapy that supports healing from emotional distress. EMDR’s protocol helps you process events experienced or witnessed over the course of your life that left you feeling frightened and/or unsafe. EMDR is also used for life events that you may not think of as traumatic but overwhelm your natural capacity to recover such as medical trauma, chronic illness, job layoffs, grief, and/or sudden life transitions (marriage, divorce, new baby…). Everyone responds to emotional distress differently. Perhaps you were previously able to manage and resolve distressing events, but suddenly find yourself overwhelmed, paralyzed and/or unable to manage. EMDR has been clinically shown that true healing is possible by removing emotional blocks allowing you to return to a natural state of healing. No concern is too great or too small for EMDR. EMDR treats the full range of depression and anxiety disorders including: generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, specific phobia, social anxiety disorder (social phobia), post traumatic stress disorder.
